Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

My 30th birthday was last week and my sneaky, sneaky wife surprised me by coordinating a weekend camping trip with our birdattack friends, Jason, Amanda and Henry. We got together at the cabin house just outside Pigeon Forge in the Smokey Mountains in the hopes that the rain would let up and allow us to journey into the national park for a bit of nature.

There, Virginia and Henry (and their parents) got a chance to catch up with one another. Over the course of the weekend, the little ones hung out in the hammock...

played in the bathtub...

and shared toys (albiet for only a brief moment, but we got a picture, so it must've happened).

The weather didn't allow us to actually set up our campsite, but we didn't really notice. We still managed to roast hot dogs and cook s'mores at the cabin, and we dodged the rainclouds to go on a hike up to Laurel Falls. Virginia especially liked riding around in our new backpack.

Regardless of the weather, it was a fantastic weekend and an excellent beginning to my 30s.

What a wonderful time! I agree with ant ellen about the last picture! Was Henry sleeping or camera shy in the group picture? Good job Brandy, Amanda and Jason on a great 30th surprise! Sure love you all!
