The Downings made quite a trek this weekend, journeying up to Morehead, Georgetown and Lexington, Kentucky, to visit animals and children alike. We started out in Morehead where we got to visit Jason and Amanda and their little man, Henry.
Henry has always been like a human preview to us. Since he's two months older than Virginia, we get to see what she'll be doing down the road. This trip was no different as Henry showed off his eating abilities (finger foods like peas and sweet potatoes) and his amazing traveling skills as he expertly rolled over, crawled, and pulled himself up on everything in sight.
Our next stop took us to Georgetown where got to meet Gracen Bailey and catch up with her parents Jamie and Jaime.
As you can tell from this picture, Grace in quite the cutie. What you don't see, however, is that seconds after this picture was taken, Virginia swiped Gracen's face causing her to cry and bleed. Sigh. Sometimes being a parent isn't all that much fun. At any rate, Mommy cured all Gracen's woes and we had a great time hanging out with the Baileys. Virginia even had time to make friends with their dog, Vagus.
Finally, our barnstorming tour of eastern Kentucky took us to Lexington where we got to drop in on Jason and Chasity Hunley and see their new home.
They were quite good hosts, allowing Virginia to come in, poop, eat, and run. There was enough time, though, for lots more doggie kisses from Lucy and Briscoe.
We want to thank everyone for allowing us to stop through and disrupt your lives for a little while. It was really great to see you all.
