Two Turkeys, One Day

Thanksgiving found the Downings in a mad dash between two states, two families and two wonderful Thanksgiving meals. It started in Kentucky where the first order of business was to figure which of these objects on the table was not a turkey.

When one of them started squealing, we knew we'd found our girl! Once the family arrived, Virginia took the opportunity to reconnect with some old friends she hadn't seen for a while (including cousin Carley and her husband Matt who are expecting their first child early next year).

After lots of socializing, a tuckered out little lady got some well deserved rest in her Gran's arms. Brandy and I took advantage and devoured our first delicious Thanksgiving meal of the day.

Then it was off to Tennessee for a Thanksgiving dinner at Dee Dee and Pops' house. Virginia slept the whole way, but awoke with quite a hunger in belly that Uncle Chip and Aunt Mary helped alleviate with a delicious bottle.

All in all it was a great Thanksgiving day with way too much food, not enough family and just the right amount of memories. OK, that's cheesy, but I couldn't think of anything that it was just the right amount of, so that's going to have to do.
