What's Up Doc?

Wednesday was Virginia's 2 month birthday, so on Thursday we celebrated by taking her to see the doctor and get her first set of immunization shots. Here she is with Mom before the big trip.

Once there we discovered that Virginia's been packing on the pounds and is up to 10 lbs 15 1/2 ozs! That puts her in the 50th percentile for weight at her age. She's also in the 50th percentile for her head size. Of course her length has her at the 25th percentile (she'll be thanking her parents for that in the future).

Then came the moment of truth. Three shots. Two in one leg, one in the other. The nurse put Virginia up on the table while I held her hands and Brandy rested her hand on Virginia's chest. She looked at us lovingly...until the first shot went into her leg. After a couple piercing screams while the shots were going in, she calmed down with a big hug from her mother.

Of course, after all that trauma, she had every right to go home and put on some pajamas, plop on the couch with some Sprite ice cubes, and flip the TV to reruns of Press Your Luck. Or at least that's what I would do if I were sick. Virginia, however, chose her crib over the couch and her mobile over Press Your Luck. She did opt for the jammies, though.

Danny and Brandy,
I just can't believe how darn CUTE she is!!!
And what a good girl for taking her shots like a champ. And hey, being in the 25% percentile for heighth is nothing to sniff at--we vertically challenged people have to stick together!
Hope you all are well,
